New management structure for ME/CFS Australia

ME/CFS Australia is committed to improving the access of people with ME/CFS to the healthcare system and to influencing decision makers to make the system more responsive. ME/CFS Australia needs to expand its resource-base to deliver these outcomes.

Annual General Meeting 2009 to be held in Dandenong, Sunday November 22nd 2009

Please note that the Annual General Meeting of ME/CFS Australia (Victoria) will be held at the Dandenong office, 15 Scott Street, Dandenong VIC 3175 at 1.30pm.

This advice is further to the earlier notification of the change of venue of the AGM from our old Burwood office to our new Dandenong office contained in the October Member E-Bulletin which was emailed to all members with email addresses and posted to all other members without email.

The group 'ME & CFS Friends' is fundraising through the sale of 2010 Desk Calendars to bring renowned international expert in ME and CFS, Dr. Byron Hyde, to Australia in September 2010. Supporter rides 'Around the Bay in a Day' for ME/CFS Australia (Victoria)

ME/CFS Australia (Victoria) would like to say a huge 'thank you' to Frank Lucarelli for his wonderful support in riding his push bike 'Around the Bay in a Day' to raise money for ME/CFS Australia (Victoria).

Money raised by Frank and his generous supporters will go towards providing services to the ME/CFS community, and awareness raising initiatives for GPs and other health professionals.

US physician challenges CFS community to implement universal measurement tool

A press release issued on October 19th 2009 from the Dr. A. Martin Lerner CFS Foundation in the USA encourages all in the ME/CFS community to adopt Dr. Lerner's Energy Index Point Score (EIPS®) as a tool to measure disability of each CFS patient.

Latest research: Retrovirus linked to ME/CFS, Whittemore Peterson Institute

The latest research from Whittemore Peterson Institute indicates that there is evidence that a retrovirus named XMRV is frequently present in the blood of patients with ME/CFS.
