Carers Week is the awareness week for carers held during October each year right across Australia. The event was established to promote and raise awarness of the valuable role that carers play in our community. It is an initiative of Carers Australia.

This year's theme is '...Because I Care', with the focus of exploring the impact of caring on individuals. Tuesday the 21st of October is National Carers Day, a day designed to encourage the wider community to acknowledge the invaluable contribution that Carers make. To celebrate the day, a range of events will be occuring across the country. See the Carers Week website for information about events near you.

ME/CFS Australia (Victoria) supports Carers Week 2008 and encourages those who care for ME/CFS sufferers to get involved in Carers Week activities in their area.

Carer's Week runs from the 19th-25th of October 2009.
