Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres are information centres for older people, people with disabilities and those who provide care and services. Centres provide free and confidential information on community aged care, disability and other support services available locally, interstate or anywhere within Australia. You can contact your nearest Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre by phoning 1800 052 222.
Respite North and West, with the support of Carers Victoria - Respite Connections have produced a booklet titled 'Respite Houses for children and adults with a disability: Houses located in the Western Metropolitan Region of Melbourne'. There are six houses located throughout the region.

Facility-based respite care is able to support families by providing parents/carers with a break from the demands of caring. Respite Houses provide a 'home like' environment staffed by qualified workers.
